What do you do?

Alright everyone. We have figured out, by reaching out to various people, that there are many different ways to re-use plastic grocery bags! Some people pick up their dog's poop with them, some people re-use them at the store, and one person even crocheted a rug from them! What do you do? Have any of you ever re-used them at the store? If so, tell us about your experiences in a comment below.

  1. I have found that if I actually wash the bags (which is something not many people do), I don't forget to bring them to the store. Washing them makes it more of a priority and I think about it more. By the way, we washed some single use bags (plastic grocery bags) and reusables in the washer (turned them inside-out first) with warm water and a gentler spin cycle, and then threw them in the dryer. Everything came out great - and super easy!

  2. I travel a lot and wrap my shoes in a plastic bag when I pack my suitcase. I also sometimes use a plastic bag as a garbage bag in a small wastebasket.

  3. A few years ago I used yellow plastic bags(newspapers are delivered in these)to make a lion's mane which was part of a costume for "Aesop's Fable." I used a crochet hook to pull the bags through a rubber mesh fabric, similar method to hooking a rug. I made this costume specifically for one of the Bog Bloggers who is also on the Bag-it team! Can you guess which one played the lion?
